Eleanor is 8 months

She's growing up way too fast. 8 months sounds so old!
She's done away with the "caterpillar" crawl, and moved on to the real thing. Since mastering sitting and crawling, she has developed another skill... pulling herself up onto anything she can get her hands on... the door, the couch, and even in her crib.

She likes to challenge herself and me.

Happy Father's Day

Happy 1st Father's Day Benjamin. You are such a great dad. Here are our top 10 reasons why:
1. You go to work every day and work so hard, even though we know you would much rather stay home with us.
2. You come home and cook us dinner, because you are by far the best cook in the house, and we wouldn't eat if you didn't.
3. Your newfound skills on the grill could make up this entire top 10 list all on their own: grilled sweet corn on the cob, melt-in-your-mouth halibut, perfect margarita pizza, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus... (Can you tell that food is important to us?)
4. You email us in the middle of the day to ask, "How are my girls doing?"
5. You tell us we're beautiful even if we are not.
6. You do the grocery shopping, get the mail, (we save it for you, because you like to) make sure the bills are paid... You take care of us.
7. You water and care for your garden every night. We think it's cute.
8. You take us for walks along the beach and make everything fun.
9. You make sure we are doing the right things so that we can keep the spirit in our home.
10. You still love us even if the house is a mess, we have not showered, are covered in spit-up, there are no clean bottles, and everyone is screaming.
You hold our family together. We love you!

Trouble With Sharing
Eleanor is having trouble sharing. (And Olive knows she's being set up.)
Any ideas on how to teach a 7-month-old to share?

Eleanor's Big Day
At the beach

We spent last week at a beach house with Benjamin's family. It was a true vacation for us with Desi snuggling Olive and everyone feeding and playing with Eleanor.

Eleanor sat cautiously on the sand and loved watching the waves.

She had fun.

At first she wasn't too sure about touching the sand, however she did sneak in a few tastes.

And Olive slept.
Thank you John and Carolyn for such a fun week.
